How to Brief TreeThemes Customization Hours So They Count

TreeThemes’ hourly customization packs exist for a punch list, not a redesign. One, three, or five hours on the services page will cover new Elementor sections, header tweaks, color and type, responsive fixes, and theme settings. They will not absorb “make it look like this Dribbble shot” with no pages named. The hour runs out on clarification if the brief is a vibe.

This is how to brief those hours so they count. It is not the “should I DIY?” decision—that is in hire theme install vs DIY. If the work is a full design file, use the Figma to WordPress handoff and the matching service instead of a three-hour pack.

What an hour is for

Good tasks are specific and checkable:

  • Replace the demo FAQ with these six questions (paste them)
  • Stack the footer to two columns on mobile; keep the enquire link first
  • Set global colors from this logo / these hex values
  • Add a services block with these three offers
  • Fix the header overlapping the hero on a phone

Poor tasks: “polish the homepage,” “make it more premium,” “SEO the site,” “like Apple.” Those belong in All in One Customization or a quoted project. Emergency white screens are Emergency Website Repair, not a customization hour.

Send a list, in order

  1. Live URL and staging URL if you have one—work should not start on a shop’s production homepage if you can clone it. See staging before launch.
  2. Theme and whether Elementor Pro is active.
  3. Numbered tasks, must-have first. If time runs out, the bottom of the list waits.
  4. Assets in one place: logo SVG, hex colors, copy already written. “We will send copy later” burns the hour on placeholders.
  5. Who will review: one person, not a committee in the last twenty minutes.

One hour fits two or three of those bullets. Three hours fits a homepage pass plus a second page. Five hours fits chrome plus a few inner pages if the copy is ready. If you are still choosing between install-only and a customization pack, the $249 Theme Installation & Basic Customization line on services is the demo-to-brand starter; hours are for after that site exists.

What we will not do in the clock

Custom plugins, third-party API work, a new WooCommerce catalog from scratch, or matching a unique app UI. TreeThemes work stays update-friendly on our products—Brandberry, Deep, Pine. If the site is another theme, ask before you buy hours.

Write the list, buy the pack that matches the length of that list, and keep extras for a second round. Unused time in a pack is for related tasks in the same engagement, not a retainer you save for next year. Ready? Start from the customization hours on the services page.
